30th Bremen International Cotton Conference (24th – 27th March 2010)

The promising program for the Anniversary Cotton Conference in Bremen will offer interesting insights into the cotton world: From the textile industry and its challenges in Germany, or risk management in cotton trade as well as the sustainable strategies of a big sporting goods producer or the regional development of cotton production in Africa – various current topics and burning issues will be discussed and presented.

The key not speaker Wolfgang Grupp of Trigema, Burladingen/Germany will speak from the view of a successful German medium sized textile business about the textile industry in Germany.

What is the meaning of sustainability today in the textile industry? Adidas, the world’s second largest sports goods producer will take a stand.

Exploring a global topic controversially - Christina Kleineidamm, the author of "Cotton worldwide", will report on her experiences in different cotton production countries of the world. Certainly not less controversial is the subject of genetic modified cotton: Matin Quaim, University of Goettingen, will present the socioeconomic impact of genetically modified cotton in developing countries.
