As a registered association, the Faserinstitut Bremen e.V. has a general assembly, a board of trustees, and an executive board. A scientific advisory board advises the board of trustees and the executive board.
The executive board consists of the institute director (chairman of the executive board), the chief engineer, and the representative for the cotton and standardization division.
Research is organized into four areas of expertise, supported by a laboratory and a technical center.
The administrative division, which operates under its own management, includes, among other things, controlling, financial accounting, and human resources.
The institute has an ISO 9001-certified management system for the area of “Research and Development in Fibers and Fiber-Reinforced Composites, as well as Knowledge Transfer.”
