Simulation

Material Modeling, Component and Process Simulation

The Simulation competence area focuses on material modeling and the resulting simulation of components in both application and manufacturing contexts. Process simulation reflects FIBRE’s portfolio in the field of manufacturing technologies. A key feature of this research is the ability to independently generate input data—for example, using test benches to determine material properties—as well as the capability to validate simulation results in-house through sensor-equipped processes. Structural mechanics studies on crash and sandwich structures—both simulated and experimental—have also been a long-standing focus. The investigation and modeling of material behavior under cryogenic conditions are being consistently advanced, supported by the new cryogenic laboratory.
