Technical Center / Equipment

The Fiber Institute has a 300-square-meter facility on the University of Bremen campus and another 400-square-meter technical center at EcoMaT near Bremen Airport. These facilities utilize state-of-the-art technologies for the technical production and implementation of projects. The basic equipment includes many modern, high-quality machines and systems.

A well-trained, competent, and dedicated team of technicians is available to operate the equipment and provide support for research projects and industrial contracts. This makes it possible to implement a seamless and extremely flexible product development process—from custom fiber production, through the shape- and strength-optimized placement of rovings into semi-finished textile products, to pressing, infusion, or injection molding. The Technical Production department works closely with the testing laboratory and actively supports student theses.
